Since the emergence of the chillwave scene in recent years, the debut Washed Out EP on Mexican Summer ‘Life Of Leisure’ has by far been the most exciting. However, since the release last summer, Ernest Greene has kept himself relatively quiet. Other than a couple of low key online / sync releases, there hasn’t been too much to talk about. With the July 11th release of his debut full length ‘Within And Without’, we have been given but a taste of things to come. On ‘Eyes Be Closed’ Greene reveals a more spaced out synth feel than that of his previous material. Carrying the same glo-fi qualities that we have known in the past, on this new track, things have gone up a notch, and we are left with a feeling that Greene has perfected his Washed Out sound.
