UK Vinyl Video: Humphrey Milles, “She’s Climbing My Tree”

Humphrey Milles has been building up to his debut album for months now and at the end of June, Tall Stories was finally released. The album is an amalgamation of Humphrey’s hard work, passion, and soul, and is an accomplished debut from this UK solo artist.

After two official single releases, Humphrey has unveiled a new video for album track “She’s Climbing My Tree.” The track isn’t a single but it’s one of the more reflective songs on the album, and after the epic bluster of his previous singles “Not Enough” and “Save Me/Tall Stories,” “She’s Climbing My Tree” reveals a different side to Mr. Milles.

The video was directed by Bella Monticelli-McTiernan who also happened to work on Tom Odell’s “Another Love” video. Humphrey sits pensively as if singing only to himself as an image of a tree grows and withers, birds fly and the background bursts into life, all the while the song maintaining its intimacy.

Releasing a video for “She’s Climbing My Tree” was a clever move, as Humphrey shows us that he’s not all epic ballads and love songs; Humphrey Milles’ waters run very deep indeed.
