UK Vinyl Video: Daniel Inouwa, “Lay Now”

After the recent release of his EP “Firelight,” Daniel Inouwa presents his brand new video for the track “Lay Now,” taken from the aforementioned release.

Each track on “Firelight” marked a certain point in an emotional journey for Inouwa, one which he doesn’t go into too much depth about, but what we do know is that the track “Lay Now” was about time. The video for the track seems like a straight-forward love story with Inouwa singing “pictures are never what they seem, so I’ll tell you what I mean” as he builds into the chorus and the images of what seems like love lost rolling over the music. These are happier scenes and sweet memories in comparison to the present which is empty, dark and cold.

As he repeats the lyrics “lay, lay, lay now,” the story takes a sinister turn with a melancholic end to this lovers’ tale. It’s clear that Daniel Inouwa writes from his heart and are a glimpse into his own personal journey of emotion.
