In recent years, Scottish indie label Olive Grove have seen some brilliant artists join their roster. These guys have great taste and it makes sense that alt-folk sextet Woodenbox are their first release of 2013.
The band release their second album End Game on 27th May 2013 and it promises to be a mixed bag of brilliantly crafted indie and left of centre folk. The band cite Scott Walker’s Scott Sings Jacq as an influence but there are strong elements of Grizzly Bear here too – not a bad thing!
Last year they played SXSW and are no strangers to the live circuit having played T in the Park, Belladrum, and Wickerman. The band plan to play more festivals and go on tour this year after the album’s release. Watch out for these guys. You’ll be seeing their name about quite a bit in 2013.
