You may recognise She Makes War as the face of our Single of the Week a few weeks ago with her fantastic free download “I Am.” Well, in this short space of time she has since released a brand new video and re-released her fantastic EP “Disarm:15″—and all before Christmas began.
She Makes War, aka Laura Kidd, is no stranger to the music industry having played over 400 gigs since her first album and gaining support from various publications and musicians. Laura has gone from strength to strength—”Disarm:15″ sees Laura reworking some of her favourite tracks from her debut album Disarm with a fresh perspective. Talking about the EP, Laura explains, “I selected the ones that feel the most resonant to me now and the ones I knew would benefit most from a bit of wisdom and hindsight.”
“Disarm:15” is a brilliant EP filled with grungy, gloom pop vibes and dream pop vocals. The progression Kidd’s made since her debut and leading up to this EP feels polished and complete. The most recent single “ghostsandshadows” rounds off the release perfectly, allowing us a look into Laura’s intricate thoughts.
Since the release of the EP, Laura has been busy prepping her next album, Direction of Travel, which is out in Spring this year. If “Disarm:15” is anything to go by, this will be one heck of an album.
