Quickbeam, although based in the Scottish city of Glasgow, sound as though their souls belong to the rolling hills and epic landscapes of the highlands. With their self-titled album about to be released via Comets & Cartwheels on June 3rd, this is a band that should be firmly placed on your “ones to watch” list for 2013.
The Scottish four-piece make stunning music that transports you to other worlds, much like the way Sigur Ros do by creating beautiful, fairytale like soundscapes. Monika Gromek’s vocals are akin to Low’s Mimi Parker—delicate and emotionally charged.
Quickbeam are simply stunning. There aren’t many bands that have the ability to emote so succinctly through their melodies—both dreamy and truly special.
