Haeligewielle is the debut release on Tartaruga Records from London based solo artist Petrels. This seven track album stretches over fifty minutes and is a swirling soundscape of noise, threaded with crushing melody, layered with a coating of occasional vocals.
The album was created utilising found percussion, bowed strings and bent electronics and starts with the solemn drone of ‘After Francis Danby’ and shimmering ‘Silt’ through to the tremulous ‘Winchester Croydon Winchester’ with it’s cascading rhythms.
Released on April 25th in a limited run of just 100 CDs, each one screen-printed, individually numbered and sewn together, featuring a fold-out double-sided screenprint insert.
This CD will be on sale exclusively from the Tartaruga website with the full digital release scheduled for 8th May 2011.
