CARALIS’ debut single “Clicks In” is quite the departure from Dan Frau’s previous body of work fronting Anison. Leaving his alt rock roots behind him, and in collaboration with John Merriman, he’s created a stripped back, electronic power anthem.
What starts as a minimalist counterpoint between vocals and drums with some subtle keyboard and bass in the background for atmosphere, soon evolves into a soaring wave of sound that washes over your stereo, giving you the urge to get out of your seat and throw your hands in the air.
Frau’s distinctive vocal style isn’t much changed, but the music backing up his lyrics has transformed into a completely different animal. We’re sure this isn’t the last we’ll be hearing from CARALIS and we can’t wait to hear what else he’s got hidden up his sleeve.
