Record Store Day 2011 – the vinyl collector’s Christmas, so to speak. A day to truly appreciate what your local record store is doing to the community, and skip from sale to sale basking in some fresh vinyl at some extra-low prices. TVD Toronto couldn’t let you forget what’s really going on, so hit the jump for a short list of what some of our record store friends have let us know about…
She Said Boom‘s Roncesvalles location (393 Roncesvalles) will be unveiling their new ’45 section’ in conjunction with RSD. A message from the store – “We intend for this to be a small, but heavily curated selection of seven inches spanning all listenable genres. Ultimately it will most probably become a sprawling albatross of tennis elbow-inducing shitty dollar records. Because we care!”
Vortex (2309 Yonge St., half a block north of Eglinton) will be having a huge sale, extending past RSD:
All USED vinyl, DVDs, and Blu-Rays will be discounted (those not familiar with our store, this means thousands of items on sale):
30% off April 16 and 17 (10am – 10pm Saturday; 11am – 6pm Sunday)
40% off April 18 and 19 (10am – 8pm)
50% off April 20 (10am – 8pm)
***+ exclusive Prizes !!***
