Vanessa Carlton’s brand new LP Rabbits on the Run hit store shelves yesterday, 7/26, but all this week we’re going through Vanessa’s personal record collection with her recs for the recs you should have in yours.

Joni Mitchell – Song to a Seagull | The cover of this album was my favorite, favorite thing. The colors drawn in that woman’s golden hair…the daisies….the motif on her jacket. I wanted to be her.

I was mostly taken with the lyrics and would follow them as Joni sang. I couldn’t believe how she could throw her voice around the way that she did. Low…
