TVD’s The Idelic Hour with Jon Sidel

Greetings from Laurel Canyon!

Well “a funny thing happened on the way to the forum,” or should I say at this year’s SXSW in Austin. I lost it. Meaning I completely lost track of what day it was. I was a no-show for last week’s Part Two of my annual SXSW “round-up.”

Have no fear. The several million of us who shlepped down to Austin for the magnificent and sometimes grueling event, are still standing. We might be burnt on BBQ, Doritos, margaritas and beer, but we are always ready to enjoy the new crop of great young bands performing at this Texas stomp.

Again big props to all my friends who I ran into down there. The journey would not be the same without you.

SXSW highlights include Mac Demarco, Pangea, Wille Belle, On An On, Palma Violets, Alt-J, Mikal Cronin, Guards, DIIV, MØ, Roadkill Ghost Choir, Phosphorescent, Savages, Smith Westerns, Ex Cops, Vance Joy, The Orwells, Milk Music, Parquet Courts, and Toro Y Moi.

Enough talk—let’s listen and dig…
