Greetings from Laurel Canyon!
I do believe some of the best playlists I’ve put together have been what I call, “burning desires.” It’s fairly common for me to dig through my crates for many days only to realize that I’m just going to change my playlist as I cut the show.
This week though, I have only one dedication and that’s to my “old lady!”
During my decade of running nightclubs in the 80’s, I believed that the natural state for a male (aka: a dude!) was to be with many chicks. (I actually used to refer to myself as a polygamist!) Now, years later, I laugh looking back at myself. I guess I was just a clever lad on the move in need of a few life lessons. Indeed, I eventually did learn about love and that (for at least my “bad ass”) one good woman was all I ever wanted.
I’ve always dug the institution of marriage so I feel it fitting that this Idelic Hour playlist is dedicated to my lovely wife, Susan. After all, it’s her birthday this week and she is by far my better half. She not only puts up with me, she puts up with my obsessions, mainly the Idelic Hour, fishing, “popcorn” films and sports. To top it off, Susan is also a great mom and and sexy as fuck to boot.
So baby, this “love drenched” Idelic Hour is dedicated to you. From rock bands to love ballads, funk jams to soul shakers, I’m holding you close on this one.
