Greetings from Laurel Canyon!
I often like doing holiday playlists and this week is no exception. Labor Day weekend is upon us, marking the the end of summer and the beginning of fall. If the year were a song, this week would its bridge.
To celebrate, I plan to do what every blue blooded American is doing . . . nothing . . . nada . . . fuck all! After all, we’ve worked hard this summer and have a heavy load coming next week. So here in the canyon I’m thinking, “Why not let someone else carry us through this long weekend?”
With “little work” in mind I set out to create an Idelic Hour composed of short excepts from some of my favorite DJ’s. I’m calling the show “Let someone else do the work” which features a boatload of obscure, hard to find records from the 50 and 60’s courtesy of amazing Kave In’s Wiggle Room, Howie Pyro’s Inoxicia, Funky 16 Corners, Stuart Style, and Johnny Alfa.
Kick back . . . and enjoy.
