TVD’s The Idelic Hour with Jon Sidel

Greetings from Laurel Canyon!

A warm desert wind is still blowing through the Canyon. Meanwhile, down on the Boulevard, ghouls are rising from graves to party. The eve of hallows is upon us, and there is no reason to not celebrate anything but “the season of the witch” 2012!

Tomorrow, anyone with a clue will be making the scene at The Hollywood Forever Cemetery’s annual “Dia De Los Muertos.” I find the concept of “descendants” throwing a party on my grave very appealing. So, please come! Join us at the graveyard tomorrow. As Father John Misty sings it…

“Why should we let these dead guys sleep?”

This week’s Idelic playlist is inspired by one graveyard. Hollywood Forever Cemetery is not a creepy yard. It’s nights are warm and spooky-calm, best when filled with face-painted revelers.

Many years from now when it’s time, bury me there—and for one night a year, build a shrine to rock ‘n roll and blast The Idelic Hour for the Hollywood kids to come.

After all, “Someone’s got to help me dig.”
