“So, you know when you find the PERFECT mate on your favorite online dating site? So, you go on a date. And it’s the most boring night EVER. Cleaning your toilet is more exciting.”
“So, you know when you’re out and happen to meet the eyes of a mysterious stranger. You immediately feel an inexplicable chemistry. You speak to one another and immediately realize NOTHING can stand in the way of the connection you feel.
So what if he/she lives halfway across the country, has a couple of kids, drinks a little too much, his/her face isn’t entirely symmetrical, etc., etc., etc…WRONG, right? And you go on to have the hottest sex EVER in the world.
Vinyl is SO wrong. Records are a pain in the ass to make, collect, clean, store, and move from place to place. And there is absolutely NO scientific reason they should sound better than their digital counterparts. But they do.
There is just something so right (and so hot) about something that is so wrong…”
That was Amanda Schukle and Tracy Shapiro from Oakland’s Steel Cranes from August’s First Date feature as they were putting the finishing touches on their debut release, Ouroboros.
The LP is set to hit store shelves next week, and we have an opportunity for you to enter to win the release on vinyl and its companion 7″, “Boat Song” by revealing in the comments below your guilty pleasure. (You know, something so wrong, yet something so right…)
One winner for both the LP and single with a North American mailing address will be chosen a week from today, 9/27!
