Though he has played in a handful of different bands throughout the years, Conor Oberst has kept one thing consistent: the release of new music.
Primarily known for being the lead singer in Bright Eyes, Oberst is taking the solo path, releasing a new solo album on May 20. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the singer-songwriter said the new release has a “country-flavor” to it. Titled Upside Down Mountain, the release will be his first solo album since 2008. The album will feature the track “Hundreds of Ways,” which was released as a single earlier this year.
“Hundreds of Ways,” along with another track titled “Fast Friends,” will be a part of a limited-edition 7″ that will be for sale on Record Store Day, which falls on April 19 this year. Because we love giving vinyl to fellow vinyl lovers, we’re giving away a very special copy of the “Hundreds of Ways” b/w “Fast Friends” limited-edition 7″ test pressing! Very rare, indeed.
After Record Store Day and the release of Upside Down Mountain, Oberst will be embarking on a US tour to promote the new album. Coming along for the ride will be indie-folk band Dawes. Tour dates can be found below.
