VIA PRESS RELEASE | Nashville’s ever-involved, ever-expansive Acme Radio Live is at it again—this time with Keep The Music Playing, a star-studded live stream fundraiser sponsored by Jack Daniel’s benefiting Music Health Alliance airing June 17th.
Utilizing live and pre-recorded performances from a smattering of famous and infamous Nashville locations—The Ryman Auditorium, Bluebird Cafe, Acme Feed and Seed, and Dino’s, to name a few—Keep The Music Playing continues Nashville’s long-seeded history of stepping up to help in times of need. Through the Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief Project, Spotify will match all donations to Music Health Alliance, dollar for dollar, up to a collective total of $10 million. Keep The Music Playing will air on acmeradiolive.com as well as Facebook and Youtube channels at 5 pm Central on June 17th and donations can be made here starting today.
Hosted by Nashville’s favorite radio personality, Justin Hammel, and Emmy Award-winning television host Kathie Lee Gifford, Keep The Music Playing will feature performances from tenured Nashville artists and songwriters and legends in the making; all from beloved Nashville landmarks and institutions. Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires, Keb Mo, Rosanne Cash, John Oates, John “JoJo” Hermann (Widespread Panic), Katie Pruitt, Devon Gilfillian, and many more are slated to perform. A full lineup can be found below.
“When COVID-19 really started ramping up and it became obvious to us that a lot of the events and plans we’d made for the summer would have to be canceled, our team hopped on a call to immediately start problem-solving,” says Acme’s Director of Marketing, Tricia Higbee. “As disappointed as we were, what was really bothering us the most was being unable to provide that platform for all the amazing artists and personalities that go into making our events what they are. We didn’t want to take away that opportunity from voices who need to be heard, so we quickly decided to pivot.”
Utilizing Acme Radio Live’s already up-and-running in-house production team to create world-class content for the event, Keep The Music Playing presented itself as the natural solution for the conundrum at hand. “Our mission with this event is simple, raise as much money as possible for the Music Health Alliance while also offering people around the world a glimpse inside Nashville, if only through a screen, to show how we’re physically distancing, but socially joining together to keep the music playing in Music City.”
Support Music Health Alliance’s COVID-19 Relief Program, providing direct support for the immediate needs of music industry professionals and their families during this public health crisis through relief grants, simplified solutions and a comprehensive database of resources. Spotify will match all donations to Music Health Alliance, dollar for dollar, up to a collective total of $10 million.

More About Acme Radio Live | Acme Radio Live is the online streaming radio station that operates out of Acme Feed & Seed located in Nashville, Tennessee. We are the unfiltered voice of Music City, showcasing all genres of music and broadcasting them worldwide.
Our mission is simple: honor the past through preservation and look to the future by discovery. We celebrate heritage acts while shining a light on talented musicians who get by on a day job and a dream. We do this by playing 60-70% local music, followed by carefully curated content recorded and mixed during our live in-studio performances or recorded shows from the Acme Feed and Seed stage and beyond.
Along with a special event, non-profit sector of our station, Acme Radio Company, we have the ability to honor local music through charitable donations and special events that provide a safe space and platform for the music community in Nashville.
More About Music Health Alliance | In response to the pandemic, Music Health Alliance’s COVID-19 Relief Plan was created to provide direct support for the immediate needs of music industry professionals and their families during this public health crisis through relief grants, simplified solutions and a comprehensive database of resources. Entirely funded through grants and individual and corporate donations, financial support from the music community is critical to continue Music Health Alliance’s (MHA) advocacy and free services.
Based in Nashville, MHA has provided free healthcare advocacy and support to more than 11,000 music industry members and saved the music community more than $50,000,000 nationwide by providing advocacy and access to lifesaving transplants, medicine, mental health resources, end of life care and many other necessary services. For every $1 donation, MHA is able to provide $30 in life-saving healthcare resources to Heal The Music. MHA fights so those in our industry never have to feel alone in a health crisis and removes obstacles so patients can receive lifesaving care.
Its services are free to any person who has worked in the music industry for three or more years or who has credited contributions to 4 commercially released recordings or videos. Spouses, partners, and children of qualifying individuals may also receive access to the non-profit’s services from birth to end of life. More info at www.musichealthalliance.com
