VIA PRESS RELEASE | To celebrate Record Store Day’s Black Friday, The Wombats will be releasing a limited edition 10th Anniversary pressing of “The Wombats EP,” their first release in the US, via Bright Antenna Records.
The 10″ will mark the first time this release has been available in vinyl, and will be available in the US only for purchase on Black Friday, November 23rd, 2018. Pick up your copy from your local indie record store! “Really excited to celebrate this EP’s 10-year anniversary, and to finally own it on vinyl,” The Wombats’ frontman Matthew ‘Murph’ Murphy shared. “The EP marks our first step into the US market, and is one we hold very dear to our hearts.”
This month, The Wombats also released a digital deluxe version of their Top 3 UK and Billboard 200 charting album BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE along with a limited-edition 7″ version of deluxe tracks “Bee-Sting” and “Oceans.” In total, the album has already been streams over 100 million times on Spotify, with single “Turn” making a splash at Alternative Radio and latest release “Bee-Sting” poised to do the same.
The Wombats have already celebrated a massive year, selling out a headline North American run this spring, supporting Weezer and The Pixies on select summer dates, along with festival performances at Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza, and Reading and Leeds. Having sold out London’s Alexandra Palace earlier this year, they will return on February 1, 2019 to play their biggest venue to date at SSE Wembley Arena.
