TVD Premiere: Lightfoot, “Mexican Stand Off”

Jessica Louise Dye took a brief hiatus from her creative outlet Lightfoot, to hit the road as a guitarist/vocalist for other NYC bands such as Chloe Sunshine and Weird Children. “It was a really great learning experience to spend so much time on tour. It was like band bootcamp.”

“I’m definitely a better player and band leader after working with so many talented people. It forced me to sink or swim musically,” notes Dye about her hiatus.

Settling back into NYC and the studio this fall to record a new Lightfoot record, she decided it would be a good time to clean house. She will be releasing two lost tracks recorded at Lighthouse in Washington, DC during the summer of 2012—and we’re delighted to debut the fruit of those labors today with “Mexican Stand Off.”

“The topics these tracks were inspired by were just too fresh and painful to share. I needed to deal with those issues before showing people my musical diary,” says Dye.
