“My first experience listening to music was through a record player. We’ve always been into vinyl, and we wanted to hear our band on a record player. It’s nostalgic and pure. There’s something about the sound when that needle hits the record that just brings me back to my childhood.”
That’s 10 Years bassist, Lewis Cosby on our favorite fetish item of choice around here—and apparently we’re not alone. The band released their brand new, self-produced, fourth LP this Tuesday, Minus the Machine, on their own imprint Palehorse Records—and its vinyl edition is presently on store shelves.
Confounding the notion that releasing single after single is the model du jour these days, I found this refreshing in their bio, “First and foremost, when it’s all said and done, we’re proud of this album in its entirety…An album is your child, it’s your baby, and you know it better than anyone. To sit back and be 100 percent proud of what we’ve accomplished is so gratifying…”
Enter to win an autographed copy of 10 Years’ Minus the Machine by telling us in the comments what album you simply enjoy from beginning to end—from first needle drop to that needle bumping up against the label on side two. We’ll choose one winner with a North American mailing address a week from today, 8/17.
