Searching for some summer grooves to quell the heat waves? San Francisco based Dimond Saints have lent their deep future bass vibes to The Morning Birds‘ spiritually lush track “Bloom,” resulting in a heavenly crescendo of acidic arpeggios and vibey vocals entitled “Indian Summer Bloom.”
The track unfolds slowly, creeping out of the speakers with dissident doo-wop harmonies and snaky percussion. Before you know it, the bass has dropped and the lounge inspired vocal line is calling us forth “to get lost in the groove.” The suggestion, made by the transcendentally-present voice of Jennifer Thorington of The Morning Birds, is pretty easy to comply with, especially after the high hat comes in to double the time signature and the Asian string pads emerge.
The collaborative nature of the “BLOOM” EP is further explored in the additional tracks “Winter Bloom,” “Spring Bloom,” “Summer Bloom,” and “Fall Bloom” which have all been remixed by diverse DJs from around the globe to match the according season. An interesting idea which is executed brilliantly by everyone involved in the project.
The “BLOOM” EP is being premiered track by track on specific astrological dates, leading up to the official release on August 12th. You can purchase it in both physical and digital formats via Bandcamp.
