Boyfrndz:
The TVD First Date

“I don’t have many significant early childhood vinyl stories. My dad had a few Beatles records, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Fleetwood Mac…but that’s boring and everyone tells you about that.”

“What I remember about first getting my hands on vinyl was when I was in my first couple years in college at San Antonio Community College. There was a rad little record store across the street (still in business, presumably still ruling) called Hogwild, and I used to pop in there in between classes.

What I remember was their “New Music/Releases” section I used to play the guessing game with. I found a few records there I still dig on, I’d snag CDs around this time too. I remember finding TV on The Radio’s Return to Cookie Mountain, Black Angels’ Passover, some Queens of The Stone Age, The Raconteurs, White Stripes records, early Grizzly Bear.

This was a very awesome time in music for me. It was before I was playing in bands or doing much in this way. I was just delving into everything and the surprise was a really special part of the experience.”
Scott Martin, vocals, guitars
