Bayside: The TVD First Date & Vinyl Giveaway

“I grew up as a child in the 1980’s and there was a short time when vinyl was all I listened to after school.”

“Being an only child until I was 9 or 10, I really never had an outlet to any punk rock records until later on in my life, so my after school music sessions were usually switching back between Michael Jackson and Madonna records. Once I found my local punk rock and hardcore scene when I was about 14 or 15 I was shocked to see 7 inch records, and LP/EP’s still being made. I had alot to learn, quickly.

My family had done away with our record player years previous in exchange for a CD player, so I had to go find my old Fisher Price record player that I used when I was listening to those MJ and Madonna records. It was a cool re-introduction to vinyl and finding my local scene really drove my desire to be a musician and to be in bands.

Having our albums come out on vinyl when every other format in the past 30 years has become basically obsolete is something special for me since it is rooted deep into my childhood. Right now I’d say my prized vinyl possessions are the Bad Religion Anthology box set and my copy of Meet The Beatles I found at an antique store.”
