5 Nights in Cabo and the World’s Your Oyster…

Last week I had the luxury of spending 5 nights in one of my favorite places in the world, Cabo San Lucas Mexico. Cabo is such a amazing place with its beautiful beaches, authentic Mexican cuisine, and a nightlife that would give Vegas a run for its money.

Here are five things I learned:

1. Cabo Wabo was recently sold by Sammy Hagar to Sky Vodka. (Uggh)

2. There are four main types of tequila, and regardless of their variety, they are produced entirely from blue agave grown in designated ares of Mexico. (I also discovered that each type leads to the same hangover.)

3. Cabo San Lucas was the main staging area for pirates during the late 1500s.

4. Over one million people visit Cabo each year.

5. Mexican rock bands love Guns n Roses. I saw this band called Strogeno at a tiny bar in Downtown Cabo. The guitar player was amazing. Check out the video of this guy absolutely owning the legendary Slash-oriffic solo from Sweet Child O’ Mine.

After this they did a full on epic performance of November Rain. Unbelievably great, but then again it was 1 am after several cocktails.

Now back to San Francisco…
