Sourpatch
Sourpatch is a four piece 90’s pop-worship ensemble from San Jose, California. Formed from a mutual love of songs about unbearably impossible romances, Sourpatch plays in the vein of influences such as Tiger Trap, Rocketship, Velocity Girl, Boyracer, Cub, Heavenly, Go Sailor, Black Tambourine, and so many 90’s west coast babes! Hissyfit
Riot Grrl, Girl Raw and Trash and Roll are just some of the ways that Hissyfit describe themselves. And they’re all pretty accurate to be honest, as the trio slam through short songs about sleeping pills, hair ties and meeting girls. (Read more at Undertheradar)

Neonates
Neonates play furtive ingenious girl punk, demonstrating their encyclopedic knowledge of the history of ladypunkers, they remind me of Washington DC’s Meltdown (most excellent No Wave inspired Scissor Girl worship from 1995—get the LP if you see it you will not regret it…) and the Slits demos and um, the Ama-Dots from early ’80s Michigan, all hail furtive exploratory girl sounds!! Palms Spring
Curt female vocals paired with intense and spastic drumming, Palms Spring is a rock duo based in San Francisco. Most recently, they released an eight-song cassette entitled Nightwalker, which was recorded this spring. Pick up a copy or check out their music here.

Onesie
New Auckland duo Onesie utilize the limitations of a two-piece and some handy technology to create a full, unique sound. UTR caught up with Catherine Cumming and Ary Jansen to find out what make the band tick and what they’re up to for 2011. (Read more at Undertheradar)
