TVD Recommends: The Inaugural Cinco de Mayo Record Bazaar, 5/5

This Sunday, the Northern Liberties bowling alley will bring together over 30 vendors for their first ever record fair.

Located on North 2nd street in one of Philadelphia’ hottest neighborhoods sits North Bowl. On any given night you’ll find their lanes filled with happy bowlers and drinkers alike. (Did we also mention their amazing selection of tater tot variations?)

In celebration of Cinco de Mayo this Sunday, the good folks at the Bowl have put together a special event for vinyl collectors and those looking to celebrate the holiday. From 2PM to 6PM the bowling alley will be throwing its first Cinco de Mayo Record Bazaar Swamp & Sale featuring a large number of vendors, a mariachi band, a PBR sponsored slipmat design contest, and taco/drink specials.

The long list of vendors attending include a number of different record shops from the city as well as other outside sellers/ traders and individuals looking to part ways with pieces of their collection. Both AKA Records and Milkcrate Cafe will be in attendance. Other vendors include Open Crates, Record Breakin’ Music, Frosty Cakes, and Reptilian Records just to name a few.

Admission is free for the whole day and things kick off late enough so that all those running in the Broad Street Run will have plenty of time to rest up before coming down.

North Bowl is located at 909 N. 2nd Street, a few blocks above the Poplar Street intersection. For those unfamiliar with the area, the closest subway stops are either the Spring Garden St. or Girard Ave. stops on the Market-Frankford Line.

There is street parking available as well for any of those who wish to drive down. Admission is free but you must be 21 or older to get into the building.
