New Jersey’s own The Early November are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their most influential album this Saturday at Union Transfer!
In what will be a homecoming show of sorts, New Jersey residents The Early November will travel across the Delaware River Saturday night to make their way to Union Transfer. There, they will be playing to a sold-out crowd who are not there to hear new songs. Instead, it will be to hear the band’s biggest album, The Room’s Too Cold, in its entirety. It’s been a decade since it first came out, but it’s clear that it has not gotten lost amongst the numerous other albums released in the years following.
Joining the stage with the emo vets for the evening are two of Philadelphia’s most promising acts in the emo/punk scene, Restorations and Little Big League. Both bands have garnered a name for themselves with each releasing well-received albums this year. For Little Big League, it was their first proper full-length album, and it followed their announcement earlier in the year of signing to Tiny Engines Records. As for Restorations, they released their second full-length album, and in the months following, have already begun work on their third. The addition of the two round out the show, turning it into one hell of a local show!
While the night’s spotlight will focus on the celebration of The Room’s Too Cold, The Early November have spent hours upon hours preparing other holiday surprises. Don’t be surprised if a new song or two creeps into the setlist either. The group announced at their show in New York City a few days prior that they are currently in the midst of working on a new album, a follow-up to 2012’s In Currents.
