Brooklyn’s Bryan Scary has been around since his first release in 2006. I caught on to him and his band, the Shredding Tears, in 2008 when they released the second album, Flight of the Knife.
I was immediately taken by the upbeat, hooky style that was like ELO meets Alice Cooper meets Beatles meets Ween. Uh, yeah, that’s some good company! Have a listen to “Imitation of the Sky” from Flight of the Knife…
Bryan Scary’s new one, Daffy’s Elixir, will be released on April 3rd on Paper Garden Records. And to celebrate that new release, we are giving away a pair of tickets to Bryan Scary’s (le) poisson rouge show on Saturday! And as someone who has seen this band live, I will have you know that they can amazingly nail all of this music’s intricacy, beauty and energy in a live setting.
All you have to do to be entered is comment below with something that scares you. A winner will be chosen on Friday.
And while you’re entering, listen to this brand-new Bryan Scary tune, “Ziegfield Station” from Daffy’s Elixir!
And Conveyor will open the show that night. If you haven’t heard ’em, dig this…
