The BBiB Record Club has been going down in NYC / Brooklyn regularly (almost monthly) for the past 3.5 years and we’d like to invite you and a friend to the next one at Masterdisk on 4/20! Yeah, that’s Record Store Day…so, how fitting?
That’s right, the super sonic sultans of Masterdisk are hosting the Record Club in April and we’re totally psyched for it! If you think records sound good listening to them in your living room on a modest hi-fi setup, then you’re gonna be in Sonic Valhalla at Masterdisk.
If you don’t know about Masterdisk, it is one of the most famous independent mastering studios in the world. One of the projects they just finished is the vinyl master for the new Bowie album and they have some of the nicest sounding listening rooms you can find this side of the Ganges. So, yeah.

Here’s what goes down at the record clubs for those who don’t know: we’ll listen to two mind-blowing rock records, of course on vinyl (and yes, full albums!) One will be chosen by BBiB. The other will be brought by one of you. Both will remain a surprise until just seconds before you hear them. Surprises are cool.
There’s only one very important rule: no talking whilst the two sides of the records play. Before and after of course are fair game though…and quite encouraged.
The two records we listened to at last Record Club are Kiki Pau‘s Pines and 10CC‘s How Dare You. In past Record Clubs we’ve listened to albums from King Crimson, Dr. John, Neil Young, David Bowie, MAN, The Kinks, Yes, Grateful Dead, Buffy Sainte Marie, Pink Floyd, Traffic, the Stones, Alice Cooper, Flower Travelin’ Band and so on.

Due to limited space at the Masterdisk studios, this Record Club has to keep a tighter guest list. BUT we’ve reserved two spots just for you. To enter to win those spots, all you have to do is comment below with two records you might choose if you were doing your very own record club.
