Wednesdays at the Square Resumes with Expanded Hours

The incredibly popular 12-week concert series in Lafayette Square commences yet again at 5 PM today with performances by the SoulaBillySwampBoogie Band and headliners the Honey Island Swamp Band.

Due to increased crowds attending the performances in the heart of downtown New Orleans, the organizers at the Young Leadership Council have decided to extend the event until 8 PM. This gives fans a little more extra music and vendors some extra cash.

The lineup for the series, which continues until the end of May, is as inventive as ever mixing young up and coming acts with seasoned veterans. Here’s a look at the rest of the schedule.

March 21-Tea Leaf Green and Colin Lake, March 28- Big Sam’s Funky Nation and The Wise Guys, April 4– the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Gravy, April 11- Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk and the Brass-A-Holics “Go Go Brass Funk” Band, April 18- Theresa Andersson and Mia Borders, April 25- Tab Benoit’s Swampland Jam and Amanda Shaw and the Cute Guys, May 2- Marcia Ball and the Pinettes Bras Band, May 9- Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and Robin Barnes, May 16- Jeremy Davenport and Breton Sound, May 23- Trombone Shorty and the Hot 8 Brass Band and May 30- Walter Wolfman Washington and Billy Iuso.
