Saturday night, D.B.A. is the place to be as the funk/soul/blues guitarist and vocalist returns to the “scene of the crime” for a special night celebrating his first release in several years.
Howlin’ Live at D.B.A. features the latest incarnation of his decades-old band, the Roadmasters, on a set of classics from Wolfman’s deep repertoire. It was recorded over several weeks this past summer.
Washington’s current band has really gelled based on the last few times I have heard them play. Anchored by longtime partner, bassist Jack Cruz, the group includes Wayne Moreau on drums, Jimmy Carpenter on sax, and Antonio Gambrell on trumpet.
