We asked the members of Lionize, one of the supporting acts on the bill, to write a little something-something to get you psyched up for the show.
“What’s up New Orleans?
We’ve spent the past few weeks rehearsing material from our soon-to-be-released record, Superczar and the Vulture due out December 6 on Pentimento (pre-order here), which we’re going to feature prominently tonight at House of Blues. We couldn’t be more stoked to play in front of such an amazing city with such accomplished, ruggedly handsome musicians.
To prepare for tonight’s show, blood has been drawn from all four of us, placed in a centrifuge, combined with tiger saliva, alligator bone marrow, and unicorn tears before being reintroduced to our bodies. This comes after weeks of rigorous rehearsals with each song diagrammed on a white board, arranged multiple times, and then forgotten forever.

Whatever little bits we do remember will be haphazardly reconstructed live on stage before your very eyes. Finally, each band has their own, unique, special pre-show ritual, and ours is what we like to call a GGM: Golden Girls Marathon! Riding the roller coaster of old age and the many hurdles it presents along with Rose, Blanche, Dorothy, and Sophia really gives you perspective about which men are using you to get to your summer house.
