This evening the guitarist, producer and bandleader Marc Stone (pictured) will be presenting another of his amazing music amalgamations—dubbed the Marc Stone Band and the Hell Bent Horns with special guests Kirk Joseph and Amanda Walker.
The show is at Carrollton Station, located on Willow St. uptown and will be broadcast live on WWOZ (90.7 FM) and worldwide on the web at www.wwoz.org.
Joseph needs no introduction. He adds the sousaphunk sound to everything he touches. The Hell Bent Horns are Jason Mingledorff, Mike Kobrin, and Jimmy Carpenter. Mingledorff is best known for his work as the tenor man with Papa Grows Funk and the Nightcrawlers Brass Band. Kobrin plays regularly with Stone and is also featured in R&B legend Ernie Vincent’s band. Carpenter is featured on tenor and baritone saxophone with Walter “Wolfman” Washington and the 101 Runners.
The singer and pianist Amanda Walker, who holds down a regular gig at the Bombay Club, will open the show at 8 PM and then join Stone and company for a blazing set, which will be broadcast live at 9 PM.
