The House of Blues is the place to be tonight when everybody’s favorite trumpeter and vocalist will celebrate his 48th year on this planet with a host of special guests.
If I know him at all, Kermit has been partying all week, but the big throwdown will be at the Decatur Street club. The party at the HOB has become a tradition and it’s always a good time with lots of Kermit’s musical friends joining him in a musical free-for-all. Sometimes he’s on stage; sometimes he’s not. Turn around and he might be taking a photo with someone right next to you, or sipping a beverage while watching the stage from the crowd.
It seems like it’s going to be Ladies Night too since the special guests who are confirmed are all female vocalists. Expect to hear Mia Borders, Sasha Masakowski, Meschiya Lake, Mykia Jovan, Ingrid Lucia and Nayo Jones.
But you can bet they won’t be the only ones partying in the house. Kermit loves Christmas music, so expect to hear plenty of holiday tunes as well.
In other Kermit news, he recently resigned with Basin Street Records, and his newest recording is due this coming spring. Since it’s the holidays, it’s also a good time to get your hands on his Christmas album Have a Crazy Cool Christmas!, which has become a perennial favorite on my sound system.
