The Musicians’ Clinic Needs Your Help

The organization has grown into one of the most important resources for our musicians who are able to get medical attention for free or with a small co-pay. But, over the past several months, the clinic has suffered several significant set backs related to funding.

Now you have a chance to help out.

The New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic and Assistance Foundation (NOMC&AF) was nominated to take part in the Chase Community Giving campaign. Chase will be giving 196 chosen charities part of $5 Million in grants. To be one of the 196, please vote before September 19th, 2012.

If you bank with Chase, just log into your account. If not, you can vote using Facebook. Also, share with friends on Facebook to receive an extra vote.

Here’s just one reason why this is important. Governor Bobby Jindal recently decided to decline Louisiana’s participation in the Medicaid expansion per the ACA (Affordable Care Act) and divert Federal Medicaid funding to coastal restoration efforts.

This decision will impact the NOMC by cutting its medicaid/GNOCHC funding by 15% and will result in an across-the-board cut in services given to NOMC&AF and its medical partners by the government.
