The Krewe of Boo
wants you!

Although Halloween is a number of months away, if you’ve ever wanted to be on the ground floor of a groundbreaking new parading organization, now’s your chance.

The new club is the first ever major krewe to eschew plastic throws in favor of locally designed, hand made collectables. Membership info is here.

The parade is scheduled for October 26, 2013 and there are a few spots left. The Krewe of Boo is the brainchild of Brian Kern—the scion of the famous Kern family of Mardi Gras float builders. The route is here.

He promises a great experience that will only get better with time. Custom floats are being designed and new ones will be added every year. The idea is to create floats that are so visually impressive that grown ups and kiddies alike will be more interested in taking in the parade than diving for worthless trinkets.

For those parade goers who cannot resist the allure of free objects being pelted at them, the organizers are enlisting a whole slew of local artisans who will create keepsakes that will end up on your mantel rather than in your attic or local landfill.

The Krewe of Boo Ball is going to be spectacular as well. Flow Tribe and the Pimps of Joytime will provide the entertainment at a giant bash at Mardi Gras World (east bank). All krewe members will have private tables to enjoy the action.
