This weekend the singer/songwriter and roots rocker celebrates the release of his latest solo effort with two shows.
He kicks off the French Quarter Festival bright and early Saturday morning (11 AM) with a set on the Esplanade in the Shade stage. He will be performing with his band, the Neighborhood Improvement Association.
Later Saturday night, Jordan and the band move the action uptown for a performance at the Maple Leaf Bar. The Ramblin’ Letters open on Oak Street.
The new album is a follow up of sorts to his critically acclaimed These Old Boots album. But Jordan reports that the new record walks closer to the line between his two musical personas. These Old Boots focuses more on his compelling songwriting, which the Times-Picayune called, “sublime.” But, he also rocks out as the bass player of Juice.
Bring Back Red Raspberry has more uptempo tunes than These Old Boots, and recalls the glory days of the late 1990s when Juice barnstormed the country bringing fans far and wide a much needed jolt of groove-based, New Orleans funk.
Besides the two performances this weekend, Jordan will be playing at the Louisiana Music Factory on April 20 and at Lafayette Square on April 24.
See you there!
