New Orleans
Seafood Festival

One thing I will never understand is why festival organizers in New Orleans don’t publicize the musical talent that will be appearing at their event. It’s not like we are in Des Moines.

Today’s Lagniappe section features a nice write up about the fifth annual New Orleans Seafood Festival. But they don’t list the musical lineup. At least you have TVD.

The show kicks off this afternoon with the Stooges Brass Band at 4:30 PM followed by Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. from 6:30-8 PM.

The music begins on Saturday at 11 AM with the killer Latin band Vivaz followed by Amanda Shaw and the Cute Guys, Kermit Ruffins & The Barbecue Swingers and the Wise Guys. Jon Cleary¹s Philthy Phew closes the day out from 6:30-8 PM.

Sunday has another impressive lineup beginning with the US Navy Jazz Band at 11 AM. The Revivalists (pictured) and Papa Grows Funk follow. The whole weekend close with a performance by Paul Varisco & the Milestones featuring special guest Luther Kent from 4:00-5:30 PM.

There you have it. Tell ‘em you found out when they were playing in the Vinyl District.
