Ten years ago the singer/songwriter burst into the collective consciousness of the New Orleans music scene when he was nominated as “Best Emerging Folk or Country Artist” by OffBeat Magazine. He has been garnering critical acclaim ever since.
In order to finance his latest recording, Burke Ingraffia initiated a Kickstarter campaign. He reached his goal of raising $6000.
His songwriting continues to mature and by recording at the internationally known Piety Street studio, Burke feels that the new record will be his best yet. He says, “It has been about 6 years since my critically-acclaimed, “Independence, Louisiana.” I am very proud of that recording. This time I want to create more of a “live” sound – something that can be easily reproduced. While “Independence” was great, there were 20 musicians on the record, and to reproduce those arrangements with those players would be quite difficult. With a live jazz band my songs can still shine with great players playing as a group.”
