As is been the tradition since the early days of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, a famous musician is immortalized on the official poster. This year it’s Jimmy Buffett. The image harkens back to his days as a busker in the French Quarter.
The last few years, the commemorative Congo Square poster has honored living legends like Kermit Ruffins and Phillip Frazier of the Rebirth Brass Band. This year, they play homage to one of the legendary figures within the brass band community- the grand marshal Fats Houston.
