This evening, three of the principal players in the Honey Island Swamp Band begin the first in a series of acoustic performances at the new intimate space on Oak Street. Chris Mulé will play acoustic guitar and resonator guitar, A-Ron Wilkinson will play acoustic guitar and mandolin, and Sam Price will play upright acoustic bass. All three will be singing as they strip down their award-winning sound. Expect to hear material from their recordings that is not played live too often as well as some brand new songs.
The series at the Oak Wine Bar continues next Thursday followed by more shows in March. The performances are from 8- 11 PM. The full band plays Friday, January 14 at Mid City Lanes Rock ‘n’ Bowl and opens of for the Radiators on Friday, January 21 at Tipitina’s.
