The Second Harvest Food Bank presents the late afternoon performances in Lafayette Square. The shows go from 5:00-7:30 PM and proceeds benefit the organization’s efforts to deal with hunger in greater New Orleans and Acadiana.
The series kicks off with Los Po-Boy Citos opening for the Iguanas (pictured).
The rest of the schedule is very impressive. It seems they are giving the Young Leadership Council (they present the spring Wednesdays at the Square series) a run for the money. Here’s whom you can expect in the coming weeks:
September 26 – Dr. John and the Lower 911 featuring Jon Cleary plus Natalie Mae and Johnny Sansone
October 3 – Anders Osborne with the Bonerama horns and Dave Malone plus Mia Borders
October 10 – JJ Grey & Mofro plus Colin Lake
October 17 – North Mississippi Allstars with Alvin Youngblood Hart and Lightnin’ Malcolm plus the Young Pinstripe Brass Band
October 24 – Rebirth Brass Band plus the Mississippi Rail Company
