This afternoon, Troy Andrews and Orleans Avenue will play their first show in New Orleans since a September 12 gig at Tipitina’s. The Stooges Brass Band opens at 5 PM.

Troy and the fellas have been home for less than a week, but the band should be energized since they have had three nights off. Three nights in a row is more like a vacation for this hard-touring ensemble since they have been averaging close to six nights a week for months.
They will immediately hit the road tomorrow for dates in Florida, Atlanta and then across the Midwest. They have two nights off between now and October 29. After another short break following a performance in Arkansas, they are back on tour on November 3 with gigs up the East Coast. They have one night off during that stretch until they take a nine-day break for Thanksgiving. Then the band heads back to Europe for two weeks with a mere one night off. Luckily this band loves to play otherwise the only word to describe this schedule would be grueling.
All this effort is in support of a great new album, For True, which is tearing up the charts. The first single has already been released as a video and in the last few days a re-mix of “Do To Me” by DJ Star Slinger—and we’ve got it for download.
