Show of the Week:
Paul Sanchez and
Rolling Road Show

This evening at the Harvest the Music concert series in Lafayette Square, singer/songwriter Paul Sanchez presents what amounts to a New Orleans super group. His Rolling Road Show essentially conflates several different bands into one cohesive unit.

Sanchez (pictured after the jump) fronts the group ostensibly, but with Alex McMurray, Washboard Chaz and Matt Perrine on board, you can expect to hear songs from the repertoire of the Tin Men like Chaz’s hilarious “Feets To Big.”

Debbie Davis, Perrine’s significant other and a member of the Pfister Sisters, plays ukulele and sings. Sonia Tetlow, a former member of Sanchez’s former group Cowboy Mouth, is the group’s secret weapon playing guitars, mandolin and banjo as well as singing. Craig Klein, one of the trombonists in Bonerama and Eric Bolivar, that group’s drummer, round out the Rolling Road Show.

The concert begins at 5 PM and doesn’t end until 7:30 PM. Over the course of that two and half hours you will hear 25 songs. You will marvel at the depth of talent in New Orleans. You will revel in the camaraderie of musicians who love each other and love what they do. You will be amused and uplifted.
