I’m really enjoying the two releases from Sacred Bones Records, The Holydrug Couple & Follakzoid. Some great psych for zoning out to.

Those that know me know that I am also a huge Akron/Family fan so anytime they release something I am happy. I got my copy in the mail last week and it is gorgeous sonically and visually.

Go to Grimey’s tonight to help celebrate the release of Drew Holcomb’s new album. He’ll be doing and in-store performance tonight 6pm. All Grimey’s in-stores are all ages. From Grimey’s:

DREW HOLCOMB & The NEIGHBORS – Tuesday, February 8th @ 6PM
Memphis native and current Nashville resident Drew Holcomb has been building his career in an old-school fashion, playing thousands of dates over the last several years and releasing 3 independent albums that have sold over 35,000 copies without the help of a record label. He’s ready to jump to the next phase and his latest, “Chasing Someday” hits on Feb. 8 on Dualtone Records. The album showcases a songwriter and a band whose influences cover a large swath of the history of popular music; it’s just as easy to hear the influence of Springsteenian earnestness in Holcomb’s hopeful growl on songs like “Fire and Dynamite” and “Miracle”, as it is to hear the persuasion of Motown on pop gems like “Someday” and “Can’t Get Enough of You.” Drew will be playing in the record store on the day his new album is released so don’t miss this chance to be among the first to hear the new songs live before he hits the road opening for Marc Broussard.

Is there something I missed? Something you are excited about that was released today? Add it to the comments!! Send a link! The world wants to know!
