The Switchblade Kid might not be a staple in Memphis quite yet, but they have garnered attention by already landing on Best-of lists including the Memphis Flyer Best Albums of 2012. Tracks like the garage rock-y “Black on Black” or the shoegaze-laden “Liquid Eyes” show the group’s knack for referencing the past, fueled by catchy melodies and guitar lines you’ll probably end up humming along to by the third chorus.
