Hey Memphis! How was your Pi Day? Well, we’ve spent all week calculating the data, and this weekend is looking to add up to be killer.
This weekend, Memphis features the blackened metal of Nola natives Goatwhore and the sweet sounds of The Memphis Dawls, Cicada Rhythm, and Bret Ross. Such a wicked juxtaposition of genres from artists who proficiently showcase their work sets this weekend up for a high sum of fun.
Friday (3/16) exemplifies one of the best qualities about Memphis in its relentless ability to always have great representation of the dark heavy guitar camp. New Orleans’ Goatwhore has been summoning melodies from hell for well over a dozen years. Tonight, they’ll be ripping you a new one at the Hi-Tone Café. Come out and drink to the devil with their evil brand of guitar dominance.
Saturday (3/17) will bring a seachange out of left field. Otherlands Coffeebar will be hosting some great talent guaranteeing an evening you will not want to miss! Bret Ross and Cicada Rhythm will both be bringing their lulling and heartfelt ‘choons to the venue, but that’s not all. Fresh off of opening up for Jack White at his show at the New Daisy this past Tuesday, the Memphis Dawls are riding a wave higher up the music food chain that most definitely warrants attendance to Saturday’s gig.
With such an exciting combination of sound, you really have to come out this weekend and see what Memphis has to offer. We hope to see you out there!
