TVD’s The Idelic Hour with Jon Sidel

Greetings from Laurel Canyon!

I’m gonna die of loneliness, I know / I’m gonna die of loneliness, for sure / No, baby, tell me why don’t you? / Oh, now, baby, tell me why don’t you / aw, make me some of your famous Bar-B-Q? / My dearest friend / You’ll soon begin to love again / To love again… (Devendra Banhart vs. Billy Gibbons, a musical conversation)

We woke up today still groggy from sleep lost from daylight savings and St. Patty’s Day. We find ourselves “Springbreakers” in the heart of March Madness. It was dark! Literally dark.

This is likely the first SXSW I’ve been home in LA since Jonah was a baby. Although I’ll miss walking the Austin streets with all my British, Aussie, and European pals, I’m content to listen to SXSW from a far this year. In fact, today Jonah is pitching his first baseball game and I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

So why not a little BBQ/hootenanny of my own? Play ball and enjoy your Spring break with music…xo.

The Idelic Hit of the Week: School of Seven Bells – On My Heart

Plenty of cool bands making their “own hoot” at home SXSW week. #blacklips #cherryglazerr
