TVD’s The Idelic Hour with Jon Sidel

Greetings from Laurel Canyon!

Halloween has always been my favorite holiday, but today I’m spooked! Ghosts and weird forces fill the air and the internet. I’m frustrated. Is it my brain or simply my hard drive?

Yes, I am haunted because The Idelic Hour is being haunted. There has been a ghost in the system. Now, for the second week in a row my makeshift radio studio is in disrepair. Last week I couldn’t get the show off to Jon at TVD.com, and this week as ghouls and goblins invaded the canyon, I managed to get a mangled version of the show together, and out.

Yeah man, this week has been “heavy on the head.” Weird news, and in fact weird people “beaming” through mobile devices has made me a moody dude. Often I use music to calm my mind when unsettling vibes come my way. This week’s Idelic Hour is fairly the opposite—it’s an hour playlist of mostly moody singers.

The concept of Idelic “Moody Dudes” popped out of the blue last week at Zenkichi, a very cool Japanese restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The spot looks like it’s from one of those “J-horror” flicks. My daughter, boyfriend Nick, and I were joking about band names and I just blurted it out, “Moody dudes, man.” Seemed like a muse I could get behind for Halloween. Little did I know, so let’s get to it…

“Boo!!! Demons…be gone! Be gone, I say! Leave my children be! Spooks and werewolf zombies be dammed! Let us sleep.”

…and we will dream peaceful thoughts tonight.
