Radiating energy, charm, and nostalgia, Jesse McCartney concluded Part 2 of the All’s Well Tour at The Fox Theater on Friday night.
Rising to stardom in the 2000s with his debut album Beautiful Soul, McCartney is now celebrating two decades of feel-good tunes and a remarkably successful career. From his early days of opening for the The Backstreet Boys and New Kids On The Block to demonstrating his acting skills on screen and even voicing popular animated characters, the triple threat musician has defied stereotypes of a typical teen star.
Treating fans to a well-curated setlist spanning his career—from beloved early hits “Leaving” and “Right Where you Want Me” to newer tracks “Wasted” and “Faux Fur”— each note was delivered with passion, connection and warmth.
Showcasing not only his evolution as an artist but also his maturity, the singer’s newest tracks from his 2024 EP “All’s Well” feature themes of growing up and parenthood—providing continued relatability with an audience that has aged alongside the Grammy-nominated singer.
Beyond his signature upbeat sound (often married with a touch of R&B,) McCartney’s charm shone through in every interaction with his fans. He took the time to thank them for their support, reminiscing about his early days and how far he’s come. His sincerity and gratitude were palpable, making the night feel less like a concert and more like a gathering of friends.
Leading into his track “Party for Two,” McCartney suggested that this song would be more fun with a volunteer—a sentence that was met with deafening screams as his supporters waved, jumped, and vied for the singer’s attention. Eventually choosing a fan to come on stage and be serenaded, she was undoubtedly not alone in her awe of seeing McCartney perform live.
Returning to the stage for his encore, the familiar melody of hit #1 hit “Beautiful Soul” flooded over the audience. “Twenty… years… old!” he declared before breaking into song, delivering each note with the same enthusiasm as if it was his first time performing. As the final note rang out, the sense of camaraderie among the adoring crowd was evident as concert goers reminisced about their childhoods while gushing over his performance.
Selling out a number of shows throughout both parts of his 2024 tour, McCartney’s fans continue to show up, share his legacy with the younger generation, and fall in love with his new tunes. Affirming his relevance in the industry as more than just a 2000s pop artist, I’m confident listeners will continue to see him evolve in coming years while staying true to the sound that made him a household name.
